Having completed his undergraduate studies in the University of London (1982), he then graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University with Excellent degree with Honors (1988). National and International Plastic Surgery societies invited him to give lectures and demonstrate surgeries in the six continents of the world, and he gets referrals of difficult cases from all his international colleagues. These include the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, and many others.

In a recent interview, Prof Wilson was asked about the reason behind his success, and how he became the Best Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon? He replied: “I was always taught, even as a youngster, never to settle for second best, and never stop until the summit was attained. This has always been my policy in my studies, surgeries and research, and I never accept a less than perfect result for my patients”. Professor Wilson’s working day!
Professor Wilson has a very busy daily Plastic Surgery schedule that includes outpatient consultations in Cairo University Hospital, Salam Hospital, and Dar Fouad Hospital. These start by early daily ward rounds (7-8 am), followed by morning operating lists (8am-1pm). He also responds to emergency complicated surgical procedures. In addition, he finds it of utmost importance to teach and examine both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. Prof Wilson gives back to the community by supervising research topics and clinical training of junior medical officers to ensure they are trained to the highest caliber possible.
